Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, first came out as gay a few years ago. He said that being gay is one of the “greatest gifts” God has given him.
Mr. Cook, who is 53, said he had been open about his sexuality with many people for years, but he wanted to keep some privacy in public.
He said that he hopes coming out will encourage people to fight for their right to equality and that this is “worth giving up some of my privacy for.”
With this announcement, Mr. Cook became the most well-known CEO to say that he is gay.
Netizens all over the world want to know who is Tim Cook’s boyfriend at the moment, we will cover all of that and more in this article.
Who Is Tim Cook’s Boyfriend? Is He Dating Benjamin Ling?
Let’s go back in time and look at this story from a retro perspective. In June 2014, Tim Cook went to the gay pride parade in San Francisco. He was with an Apple employee named Benjamin Ling. Then, in October of that year, he wrote an editorial for Bloomberg Business in which he said he was gay.
Writing in Businessweek Mr. Cook wrote: ‘Let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me.
Ling had also thanked Tim in a tweet for being open about being gay.
People did not waste any time in connecting the dots and there were speculations spreading like wildfire that Benjamin Ling, who had been with Tim Cook at the gay pride parade, was his boyfriend.
Tim Cook never came forward to talk about it. As he mentioned in the interview, he had been trying to get a “basic level of privacy.” Thankfully, the rumors were put to rest when Benjamin Ling introduced his partner Chris Coudron to the world in 2018.
Tim Cook had always prioritized his privacy so it comes as no surprise that there is no indication of him being currently in a relationship. Also, there have not been any sightings of Cook with a potential match which lands us to the conclusion that Tim Cook is currently single and not dating anyone.
However, this does remind us of an interesting yet scary story that unfolded earlier this year where a woman who claimed to be the wife of Tim Cook stalked him. Read on for details.
Woman Who Fraudulently Claimed To Be Tim Cook’s Wife And Stalked Him Agreed To Stay Away For 3 Years
Apple says a woman followed CEO Tim Cook for more than a year, sending him pictures of a loaded gun and breaking into his home. In court, the woman agreed to stay away from Cook, Apple employees, and properties, and to give up any guns she may have.
In January, Apple got a temporary restraining order against the woman because they said she was acting “erratic, threatening, and weird.” The company put copies of photos, emails, and tweets that were said to be from the woman in the application. Apple said that the woman “may be armed, is still in the South Bay Area, and plans to go back to Cook’s house or find him in the near future in some other way.” Apple said it thought she drove from Virginia to Palo Alto in a Porsche Macan SUV and showed up at Cook’s house on October 22.
The temporary order said that the 46-year-old woman couldn’t have guns, talk to Apple employees, including Tim Cook, enter any Apple property, or go to Cook’s home in Palo Alto. The order was set to end on Tuesday.
Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Erik Johnson signed a new order that Apple and the woman had agreed on. It had the same terms as the proposed temporary order, but it would only last for three years. When Johnson asked her questions to make sure she understood the terms of the order, the woman answered quickly with “yes” and “yes, sir.”
In a January court filing, Apple security expert Jose Barrera said that he works closely with CEO Tim Cook and feared that the woman was a threat to Cook and all Apple employees, including himself and the security team. Barrera said on Tuesday outside of the courthouse, “We’re happy with how things turned out.”
The three-year order also says that the woman can’t talk to the CEO or other Apple employees directly, indirectly, or through email, social media, or other electronic means.
