Amanda Caryl Cromwell was born in the United States on June 15, 1970. She used to play pro soccer and is now the head coach of the Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League.
Cromwell was the coach at the University of Central Florida from 1999 to 2013. During that time, her teams won eight regular season titles and five tournament titles. UCF went to 11 NCAA Tournaments while she was in charge. After that, she was the head coach of the UCLA Bruins women’s soccer team for nine years.
Cromwell played for the Virginia Cavaliers from 1988 to 1992. In 1991, she was captain of the team when it went to the NCAA Final Four. She played soccer for the U.S. women’s national team from 1991 to 1998. During that time, the team came in third at the 1995 FIFA Women’s World Cup and won gold at the 1996 Summer Olympics. After Cromwell left the national team, he played for the Maryland Pride, the Tampa Bay Xtreme, the Charlotte Eagles, the Washington Freedom, the Atlanta Beat, and the San Jose CyberRays.
