Justin Mende, who is also known as FJ OUTLAW, was born in Tallahassee, FL, in December 1986. Slim Sommerville and the Southlanders was the name of his father’s country band. In 1981, they played at Nashville’s “The Grand Ole Opry.” When FJ was three years old, his family moved to the rural area of “Port St. John.”
When he was seven years old, his mother gave him his first guitar. He grew up in low-income trailer parks and moved from town to town as a child. FJ had taught himself how to play by the time he was 13 and had been in several bands.
He started listening to hip-hop music when he was in his early teens and grew to love it. He had tried rapping by the time he was in his late teens. He soon found a way to combine his country music, rock and roll, and hip hop roots into his own style and flow.

FJ OUTLAW’s Professional Life
In 2016, his first EP, “Shotguns N’ Whiskey,” and his first album, “More Trash Than Hick,” came out.
In 2018, FJ broke up with his first record company. Then, he put out an album called “Life of the Outlaw.” He made three more albums in 2019. His throwback albums “Lyrical Narcan: The Mixtape,” “Saltwater Cowboys,” and “Phonetic Freshman” are all good examples.
In 2020, he put out an album about Eleven86 Music called “Label Denounced.” Then, he joined MAKO Music Group.
