Mickey Guyton is an American country music artist. In 2011, when the singer-songwriter from Texas signed with Capitol Nashville, she was the only Black woman on a major country music label.
Remember Her Name is the big break she was always meant to make. It has honest songs about self-acceptance, the pain of racism, and making it in a country music scene that isn’t known for its diversity. “Black Like Me,” which was nominated for a Grammy, and “Love My Hair,” which she sang with Brittney Spencer and Madeline Edwards at the CMA Awards in 2021, are two of the best songs.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that Mickey is already making a big difference. People are blown away by her skills, and her amazing performance at the Grammys blew everyone away. You probably know her hit song “Black Like Me,” but what do you know about Mickey? Is she seeing someone? Let’s dig in.
