For Wimbledon 2022, 17 British singles players will compete on the lush South-West London lawns.

After learning that they wouldn’t face the top-seeded opponents in the first round of the tournament the following week, the home players entered on Friday with a sigh of relief.

A former Wimbledon champion and a US Open champion are among the competitors in the June–July grass pitch competition.

The only grand slam played on grass is Wimbledon, with Flushing Meadows, Roland Garros, and Melbourne the exceptions. There will be another unknown British player taking the field with their own goals and objectives for every superstar like Andy Murray or Emma Raducanu.

The Wimbledon tournament, which Murray has won twice (in 2013 and 2016), as well as his first Olympic gold in 2012 against Roger Federer, will see him back in play in 2022 after recent injury worries.

After winning the US Open last year, Raducanu will be competing in her first grand slam on home soil, however her consistency is inconsistent.

The Women’s, Men’s, and Wheelchair competitions at Wimbledon 2022 will feature a total of 44 British competitors, including Murray and Raducanu. Even though a player is competing in a doubles tournament, they are only tallied once.

The only two grand slam champions are Murray and Raducanu, however others on the list include Jamie Murray, Cam Norrie, and Heather Watson.
