Gunna, an Atlanta rapper, was freed from jail on Wednesday, December 14, after pleading guilty to a RICO act allegation.
Gunna, whose real name is Sergio Giavanni Kitchens was born on June 14, 1993, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He has contracts with the record labels 300 Entertainment, Atlantic Records, and Young Thug’s YSL Records.
In May 2022, a 56-count Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) indictment named Kitchens and Jeffery Williams as two of 28 people with ties to YSL who were charged. Kitchens turned himself into the police on May 11, 2022. Kitchens was not allowed to get bail, and his trial was set to start on January 9, 2023. On October 13, 2022, Kitchens was sent back to jail until his trial in January. On December 14, 2022, Kitchens pleaded guilty to a single charge of racketeering. He was sentenced to five years in prison, but one year was counted as time already served. The rest of his sentence was suspended, but he had to do 500 hours of community service as part of his probation. He was let out of jail the same day.
