Kirby Paul Smart is a coach for American football and used to play the game. He is the head football coach for his old school, the Georgia Bulldogs. In 2022 and 2023, he led the Bulldogs to back-to-back wins in the National Championship.

How and when Kirby and Mary met and got married?
The Georgia Bulldogs website says that Kirby Smart and Mary Beth Lycett met when they both worked in the University of Georgia’s athletic department. On the team’s website, Smart’s biography says, “The couple met long after they were both students at Georgia. Smart went to Georgia in 2005 to interview for the job of running backs coach for the Bulldogs. Lycett, who worked in the UGA Athletic Association Business Office at the time, helped set up Smart’s trip.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says that they started dating the same year that Mark Richt hired Kirby as an assistant coach for the Bulldogs. They fell in love, and in 2006, at St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia, they got married.
Like her husband, Mary Beth Smart played for the Bulldogs. She went to college in Georgia and played basketball there. Now she runs the Kirby Smart Family Foundation with her husband. The goal of their charity is to help kids and families who are having a hard time and give them the tools they need to be leaders in their community.

Mary Smart and Kirby Beth have three children together
Mary and Kirby have been blessed with three children since they got married. They have twins named Weston and Julia who were born in 2008, and in 2012, they had a son named Andrew.
For the 2022-2023 season, the couple’s youngest son is a big part of the Bulldogs team. “I mean, Andrew is like my little brother,” Darnell Washington, a tight end, told a news station. I have two little girls of my own and a lot of nephews, so I just think of him as one of my own.
