Lea Michele Controversy - Explained!

Lea Michele has gotten into a few controversies over the years because of what she has said and done. Her Glee co-stars haven’t been shy and have said bad things about her.

But in the last few months, Lea Michele has been making a sort of comeback. This was helped by the news in July that she would replace Beanie Feldstein in the leading role of Funny Girl on Broadway.

Lea Michele Controversy - Explained!

Before her first show as Fanny Brice in the first Broadway revival of “Funny Girl,” Lea Michele talked about how nervous she was to return to the stage, how she was accused of making “Glee” a bad place, and yes, the false internet rumor that she can’t read or write.

What Is The Lea Michele Controversy?

Over the years, people’s opinions about Lea have changed, and celebrities haven’t been afraid to say what they think about her. Even though a lot of bad things have been said about the actress, this hasn’t stopped her from getting better at her job and becoming one of the most important people on Broadway.

In a new interview with The New York Times, Lea Michele says that the complaints about her behavior on Glee are just a case of her “perfectionism” going wrong. She told Rolling Stone, in response to Samantha Marie Ware’s claim that Michele had made the workplace hostile, “I have an edge.” In June 2020, Ware said on Twitter that Michele had said she would “spit in my wig” and made other “traumatic microaggressions.” Amber Riley and Alex Newell, two other Glee cast members, liked and shared those tweets.

Riley said that Glee wasn’t the “most comfortable environment” in an oral statement, and Heather Morris said that working with Michele was “unpleasant.”

Michele posted a long apology on Instagram at the time, but she talked about the controversy again to The New York Times. I leave no room for mistakes. This level of perfectionism, or the pressure to be perfect, made it hard for me to see many things.

Drama seems to follow Michele everywhere she goes. This is especially true as the actor gets ready to take over the role of her dreams from Beanie Feldstein, who left the Broadway show in less-than-ideal circumstances. When Michele joined the rest of the cast and crew, she said, “Everyone here has been through a lot, and I just have to come in ready to do a good job and respect the fact that this is their space.”

“I went to ‘Glee’ every single day, and I knew my lines every single day,” she told the Times. “Then there’s a rumor online that I can’t read or write? It’s bad. It actually is. I often think that if I were a man, a lot of this wouldn’t be the case.”

So, it’s clear that Lea Michele is not illiterate; she can both read and write.
