Spy Family is a Japanese manga series that was created by Tatsuya Endo. The plot revolves around a spy who must “create a family” in order to complete a task; however, he is unaware that the woman he decides to get married to is a competent assassin and the child he adopts as his daughter is a telepath. As of April 2022, the chapters of the series compiled in nine tank-bon volumes after being serialised fortnightly on Shueisha’s Shnen Jump+ app and website from March 2019. By Viz Media, it was granted a licence for North America.

Spy x Family has been a welcome change of pace in what has otherwise been a fairly disappointing Spring. The popular show is the most well-liked anime of the April–June schedule on practically every user-based rating service.

The show has received ratings of 4.6/5 on Anime Planet, 4.9/5 on Crunchyroll Reviews, 88 percent on Anilist, and 8.9/10 on IMDB. It has also spent 12 weeks in a row in the top 10 fan polls on AniTrendz, naturally peaking in first place for much of its broadcast.

Additionally, Spy x Family is rated 8.97/10 on MyAnimeList, which has over 312,000 reviews and 810,000 users. This not only elevates Spy x Family to the 13th-highest-rated anime of all time, but also makes it the most popular series on MAL’s 2022 Spring schedule.
