Fire Force Season 3 - Confirmed!

The prolonged anticipation for an update is over now that Fire Force has formally confirmed its return for Season 3! Fans had been anticipating the return of the anime to make up for the absence of new content since Atsushi Okubo’s original manga series finished earlier this year. Fans were left on a significant cliffhanger when the second season finished two years ago without any indication that a third season might be in the works. It has been difficult to wait, but happily the show has confirmed that there will be new episodes.

On May 17th, Season 3 Of Fire Force Officially Confirmed

Season 3 of Fire Force was finally announced on May 17. The good news that a third season was “already in production” was posted on the show’s Japanese Twitter feed along with the domestic website.

SugoiLITE, a well-known and generally trustworthy Twitter leaker and insider, made a post on April 29th in which he said that “‘Fire Force’ (Enen no Shouboutai) TV Anime Season 3 [is] in production.”

Fire Force Season 3 - Confirmed!

The good news is that anime renewals typically depend on two factors: popularity and source material. As a result, Fire Force’s return was practically certain.

Fire Force is obviously a very popular series with its audience, but don’t just take our word for it. With a combined 890,000 reviews, Fire Force has received ratings of 7.6/10 on IMDB, 83 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, 4.1/5 on Crunchyroll, and 7.69/10 and 7.78/10 on MyAnimeList for both seasons, respectively.

These numbers do show that Fire Force was unquestionably popular enough to warrant a third anime season, despite the fact that the Japanese performance, which is probably a more crucial component in renewals than worldwide success, has very little bearing on renewals.

Release Date Prediction

While the announcement that the anime will return for another liturgical adventure thrilled fans, a release date for Fire Force season 3 was regrettably not provided. On the basis of the production of prior seasons and David Productions’ schedule, the studio that created Fire Force, we can make some predictions.

Fire Force Season 3 - Confirmed!

Season 1 debuted in July 2019 after being announced in November 2018, and season 2 will follow in the same month with a 7 to 8 month animation run.

Many fans may have anticipated the anime’s return in April 2022 as part of the Spring broadcasting schedule based on this production cycle. The David Production team’s workload, however, is most likely to blame for the lack of official season 3 news.

The studio has been hard at work on Strike Witches: Road to Berlin, 2.43: Seiin High School Boys Volleyball Team, and Cells at Work!! since Fire Force’s second season wrapped up in 2020.

A 52-episode version of the Urusei Yatsura series, on the other hand, is currently being worked on by the studio and is scheduled for a four-course broadcast later this year. Fans can anticipate the release of Fire Force season 3 in either October 2022 (optimistic) or more likely, January 2023, if David Production continues to prioritize this series.

Next, there is the source material, which is sufficient to create a third season of the anime. According to Anime Geek, the anime adapted the source manga up until about volume 20 chapter 174.

The good news is that 304 chapters overall in 34 volumes have been released in Japan, and the story, which has been serialized for an amazing six years, reached its conclusion earlier this year.

There is enough source material available to the production crew for at least one more full season of the anime, and possibly two if manga content can be stretched out, as each season of Fire Force has adapted around 10 volumes of the manga.
